When a contact is added to your Textline Address Book, you can set up a text message to trigger right away. This automation can be used to send a warm welcome to new SMS subscribers, thank customers for a first-time purchase, or direct them to take specific actions. Customers are typically most engaged with a text program when they first join, making welcome text messages a wonderful way to connect with new customers.
Let’s look at how to set up this Automation in the Textline platform.
In the Automations window, click New Automation.
Select build from scratch.
This lets you set up a fresh template without any existing parameters.
Name your Automation and choose your Department.
Departments are the phone number you want your Automation to operate under.
Select Contact Created Automation type and confirm the right Department.
This step signals to Textline that you want the action to occur when a contact is added to your Address Book and specifies the Department.
Set any rules or conditions you want met.
Conditions are rules that cause an Automation to fire or prevent it from triggering. For example, you could state that Agents must be available in order for a welcome message to trigger in case customers reply to it.
Choose the Send a message action. Type out your desired message.

Preview the Automation.
Double-check your Automation by reviewing conditions and proofreading your message.
Click Create Automation, and you’re ready to start welcoming new customers!
